Did You Know? The Meaning Behind “Young World by Ruth”

Christen Young

Did you know that my business name, Young World by Ruth, is actually a playful reflection of my own name?

“Young” is my surname, and “Ruth” is my middle name, but there’s a deeper story stitched into it. Ruth was also the name of my great-grandmother, a talented seamstress whose gift for sewing is said to have been passed down to me. Though I never had the chance to meet her, I feel a strong connection to her creativity every time I sit down at the machine. Naming my business after her felt like a way of honouring the legacy of craftsmanship that runs through my family.

When I started this journey, I knew I wanted to create more than just adorable children’s clothes. I wanted to build a brand rooted in meaning. Young World by Ruth isn’t just a name, it’s a tribute to heritage, handmade tradition, and the magic of childhood.

As a family-owned small business, we specialise in handmade children’s clothing and accessories crafted with love, care, and heirloom-quality detail. Each piece is thoughtfully designed to celebrate childhood in all its whimsy and made to be treasured, passed down, and remembered.

So the next time you see the Young World by Ruth label on one of our dresses, rompers, or tiny bow ties, you’ll know there’s a story behind every stitch. It’s a story of family, of legacy, and of a dream lovingly brought to life one handmade outfit at a time.

Thank you for supporting small, and for being a part of this beautiful little world we’re building.
